Today's Date: Wednesday, August 20, 2008 Article Posted: Thursday, June 2006 Harvey Goes to Camp One of the major goals Harvey Waddelow had in mind when Missions Alive was founded was church motivation—the encouragement of churches to total commitment to world evangelism. This precept is the foundation of our charter today. As Harvey observes, "Youth are the key," so each year he visits Christian camps and VBS programs for missions presentations. Using his "T.H.U.M.B." acrostic, a different country and its unique challenges and opportunities is discussed each day, featuring Harvey in native costume with artifacts, games, and personal stories to share. These special resources offer a captivating means for children of all ages to gain information, insight, and inspiration for the mission field. Harvey recently spent the week at Oil Belt Christian Service Camp.
